Default Sfa conversion?

I apologize if this has been asked before but I couldn't find if it has. Anyway is it possible to convert/swap my ifs to sfa? I know those are so much better suspensions that's why I thought I'd ask. Also how much money would I be looking at? I'm sure this is either not possible or very expensive or else lots of people would do it but just thought I'd ask

Oh and I found a dana 44 axel off of a 1995 ram for $250. Would I be able to put that on mine? Or would that just be stupid. Sorry suspension is not my area of expertise

well it can be done and has been done. but if you dont know what your doing and have to have it done. youll be looking at 8-10k to get it done right. there is nothing wrong with ifs is you can understand it. If left alone it works fine and it works fine with lifts that use drop brackets and keep the cv angles at reasonable angles. Some people say you can only go 35's before you start running into problems. I know alot of people that are running 37's or bigger with no problems. me being one of them. But you need to under stand when something does break it needs to be upgraded not just fixed. But if your hell bent on sfa truck your best bet is to go find a 2500 or a 1500 megacab.

There is a guy on here that did a SFA swap. You just need to need to search "SAS" i believe. He did it for fairly cheap but he used an axle from a GM

05 or 95? Now you're confusing us! Lol. If it's from a 95 then I would say probably not because that's a whole different truck and I believe our trucks are wider than the 2nd gens

Yep, ain't no DANA if it came off a 3rd Gen. The Dana 44 is a pretty weak SFA so if I was gonna go the crazy expense of a SFA conversion, I'd go bigger/stronger.

This is a job for guys who have the facilities to do it themselves, it's easily an $8k job if you're gonna pay for labor. IMO if you want SFA that bad, trade/sell the truck and buy a 2500...

I don't want one that bad. I was just curious. Thanks for the input though
