Default Bone Stock for now...

Hey all, I'm new to this forum but not to modding. My work truck is an 06 1500 Black RWD 4.7. I'm currently chasing down the overheating issue and looking to do some upgrades as well. Here are a few items I'm thinking

Upgraded headlights I do a lot of night driving and looking for an aftermarket set but haven't found any that were H.I.D. already

Either drop in K&N airfilter or DIY CAI.

New Muffler to replace the boat anchor with more flow. Also I thought I saw a specific Y pipe for our trucks but cannot locate it now...

Interested in Superchips but does anyone use the fuel saving mode? Does it give any real gains?

I have the Lifetime Limited Powertrain so I do not want to cause dealership issues with that. It's odd because I am a second owner but the dealership said it was still in effect so I'm not going to complain.

The Mileage tune on the SuperChips won't give you any real gains as it actually detunes the truck in the vain attempt to save gas but forget that its trying to push a 5000 lb+ beast down the road. Most (myself included) found better gains with the performance tune. I'm not sure how well it is with the 4.7 though. And you're looking for the Magnaflow Y pipe but again I don't know if they make it for the 4.7. The 4.7 and 3.7 don't get as many mods as the Hemi since the Hemi is the big boy of the family and many with the lesser engines don't really mod them (not saying that they don't) as they aren't really "performance engines"

Yeah I thought it was the magnaflow Y pipe. I totally understand on that point. This is my truck I use for work plus it was the right price when we bought it. I'm thinking a CAI, Y pipe and leaning toward the AT 3030 muffler. No need for Chrome tips and such for me.

CAI, tuner and exhaust are the "big 3" of affordable bolt on mods that when all paired together show gains. Depending on what the work truck is used for I would try and talk my company into putting some new gears (4.56s) in there
