Default Connector not plugged in

Guys,

In my steering column there is a black connector that is just lying there. There are two connectors plugged in to the back of the clock spring module that are white and yellow, and this black connector comes out of the same harness as those two connectors. I am trying to locate where if anywhere that this connector goes to. I have an airbag light on and I am wondering if the person before me did not plug this back in etc.

Any help will be great. Thanks in advance

Could be...check the connector going to the airbag and see if it matches up...

No there is already a connector plugged in to the top of the airbag module. This one is attached to a plastic retainer that is just below the ignition key cylinder and only has a short amount of wire.

Is the black connector a single wire? could it be a ground wire for the clock spring and thats why your air bag light is on.

No it has 4 wires going to it and is a 6 wire plug. It has 2 spots empty in the plug. Could this be a spare for possibly the steering wheel volume controls etc. My truck does not have that option.
