Default 07 hemi question

Looking to purchase an 07 quad cab 4x4 with hemi right at 93,200miles. It is at a small car lot. The exhaust stops at the resonator. Runs and drives good. When it cuts down to 4 cyl it sounds like it is missing out somewhat. At one point driving about 20mph it kinda missed and sounded like a small back fire when I gave it some "gas". Only done this once. The guy said he would have a muffler put on. He says this will make the truck run better due to the back pressure. Is this correct? Also just thought about just putting duel pipes to the rear and just turn on the tow/haul mode while in town.
Only other issue is when you get in, and grab the steering column, it jerks to the left just a little. You have to pull hard to cause this, but is their bolts that you can just tighten for this?
Any info would be appreciated. He is also giving a 90day/3000 mile warranty.

Fireman,

If you want to PM me the VIN I can send you a build sheet so you can see exactly how it was equipped from the factory.

You can get a tuner and turn off the MDS. It seems to be a common thing for it to sound funky with a modified exhaust when MDS kicks in

I thought about going that route also. Guess I'll see what happens.

For your steering wheel issue the thing that pops into my mind is when some people get into their truck they grab the steering wheel to help them up and it could have just gotten loose over time. Not saying thats the case but its a thought
