hey everyone!! just purchased my first dodge vehicle...been a ford guy all my life and figured it was time to change...the 5.4 is a joke

my question is....i heard all the good things about the multi displacement package on the hemi engines....i have a 2006 mega cab 1500 4x4 and was wondering if the "heavy duty" trucks came with this as well....i believe the standard 1500 comes with it? but not sure if my land yacht is equipped? or is this multi displacement thing for the cars with hemi engines?

also...is there anyplace i can look up the vin on my truck to find out what gear ratio i have? i was told the 5.7 mega cab came with either a 4.10 or a 3.73....not sure which on i have....fords had the tag on the rear chunk but i dont see one on my dodge

To be short and simple, no you don't have MDS on your Mega Cab as it is essentially a 2500 and they don't have MDS either. Only us 1500s and the Hemi cars have it. And email Dodge or Chrysler or whoever lol with your VIN number and they will gladly send you a build sheet which will give you what your looking for and more!

 

Heres the email where you can get your build sheet, they are quick, I got mine in less than 24 hrs.

thanks for the help guys....i was reading the mds came on all hemi engines but i figured it was not an option on the land yacht....and i will certainly hit up the link....thanks guys

 

The 6.1's also never came with it. Up through at least the 2010 MY the 5.7 with the stick shift in the Challenger didn't either.

Now they figured out how to make the 392 in the newer vehicles have VVT and MDS.

 

Get the pulse feeling when on flat ground with steady throttle. Asked mechanic son-in-law about problem, said he has the same thing with new GMC with MDS. Seems to be standard with the system, no matter the manufacturer.
