I appreciate everybody's comments. I'll put a Class III on THE RAM before I go to Houston and pick up THE MUSTANG.... LOL

 

Factory is Class IV for the record. So even with the frame mounted hitch you won't be able to tow the Ram's full capacity. But it will be enough for the car

 

I went by U Haul and the guy said I was good to 5000 lbs and the 4 pin wiring was present. Apparently I have the trailer towing package and didn't realize it..... Wish I had a sunroof and didn't realize it! That justifies the drop top stang!

 

well bingo bango, nice for you! Throw up a pic of the stang when you pick her up!

 

Trailer towing group would include 4 and 7 pin. Request a build sheet from dodge to find out exactly what you're truck came with

 

Motorider-That was exactly what I meant....The bumper placard states that it is a 5000lb limit with a 500lb tounge weight...it also states that the actual towing capacity of the truck may be different. When I towed my 97 drop top, it all weighed in at about 4200lbs...(car+trailer)

 

The weight should be fine, I would be more concerned with the hieght. The ball on the bumper is very high which tips the tounge of the auto transport too high. When you tow, especially that much weight the trailer should be level.
