intake and exhaust mods
curious on some thoughts... thinking about removing or replacing my cat conv looking for gains in the mpg dept. wondering whats the best route... removing and straight pipe with foulers, replacing with hi-flo cat....
and thinking about an AFE silver bullet TBS... and first hand reviews?
keep in mind I live in Canada, so passing emission regs I'm not too concerned about.

Taking out your cats will lose you low end power and hurt MPGs. And the stock cats are already high flow so you don't need to get new ones. Just run some sea foam through them to give them a good cleaning
Yep, one of the priorities when they designed the Hemi was breathing - which is more important with Polyspherical heads (contrary to popular belief or their namesake, the modern Hemi does NOT have Hemispherical heads). Stock cats were among the higher flowing in the industry when the engine came out in '03.
If functional, there is no real advantage to either omitting or replacing them. There are other places you can spend your $$$ on for better performance...

Start with searching this forum for the TM Delete Mod. You have an 03, so this will be the first thing to do. Next, look into intake mods. You won't get good fuel economy no matter what you do, at most 16-17 mpg depending on how heavy your foot is.
TRM delete is worth it i have a Superchip too and i still noticed a difference in shifting.
Grounding you Tb sounds stupid but once again with the chip i still felt some more respone in the throttle. Clean it to lol
Efan and low temp theromstat will free up more hp
EDIT: i didnt see anyone tell you not to buy a TB spacer...... SO DONT, its a waste of money unless you convert your HEMI to a Carb instead of fuel injection. They are about as useless as a paper weight and by the couple ive seen they would barley weigh paper down

I got a Jet Helical throttle body spacer and I noticed a difference in the low end torque when you are being light on the gas. It makes a difference in the low end of the rpm range. Also gives me a little better pick-up off the line (again, when light on the throttle 20-40% throttle).
Ive had one on a mustang which obviously isnt a Ram but i saw no power increase.
Whats the science behind putting the throttle body forward an inch and a half?
