Default Need some help on tires!!!!!

Im looking at the Goodyear Wrangler DuraTracs for my 1500, got a 2" level kit and its also 2wd. Im pretty positive that the 285-70-17 will fit no problem, just wanting to get some feedback to make sure they will fit with no problems.

There is a fact-filled thread that has just about any info you could possibly want about tires and which ones work with your truck:

You said the "D" word!

Surprised Hammer hasn't been in here yet. Must be out cruising the high school parking lots...

I kid. I kid.

Hammer just has some experience with sidewalls failing on Duratracs when mounted on our big, heavy trucks. To answer your question (or not answer, actually), I know they would fit on a 4x4. Not sure about the front end of a 2WD, though.

Anything up to 34" will fit a 2WD with no level

Your primary concern is width, not height.. you can turn 35" tires fine on a stock rig 2wd.. but you aren't getting much wider than 11.5" width in there without issues.. it can be addressed by using spacers on the hub, or seriously negative offset/dished wheels..

285 is a little over 11".. 11.2 to be exact.. you should be fine. Should, being the operative word.. it seems to me every truck sets a little different.. I'll explain why if anyone cares to hear a rant on the subject..
