Alls this is, is a Throttle Body spacer.
The grooves it has cut into it make the air spin......
what does that have to do with getting More MPGs.
Its supposed to draw more air into the motor by spinning it(Your Motor will only suck so much, and what your stock intake brings in is more than enough)
If you have a CAI thats about the only way to suck a very little bit more air into the motor. Spinning the air simpily wont bring more air into the motor. Most people on here call them snake oil, because thats what they are

Isnt the idea behind these products to spin the air, then mix with the fuel better for better detonations?

I still lean towards snake oil too, but i think these things mix fuel and air more throughly..? which in the makers mind give you that extra 0.5% in power. But id rather see, O2 readings and burnt fuel readings before cats...

they don't work because the air isn't moving fast enough.... in order for air to effectively change its dynamics under a vortex it must be moving at upwards of 200MPH.... good luck getting that to happen....

You may however see an increase in throttle response because you are giving some more distance (and volume) for the air to sit in... but the small spin it will give the incoming air is of little to no affect.

Thanks for the input but the question is "Anyone have experience with it?"

Not what it does. I understand that, I am looking for some one that might have actually used it and their thought...

Reason asking is that if used in combination w/ a Volant CAI, exhaust and tuner would there be any additional gains any where? HP's MPG's? Even if it may be 1%-3%.

I had a TB spacer on my '94 Chevy 305. It was 1/4" thick and easy to install. It supposedly made a difference because the injectors were right inside the throttle body, theoretically blocking some air. I _think_ it made a small difference, because it lifted the injectors out of the throttle body but that could just be my brain _wanting_ to notice a difference. This pic is a representation of that system (without a spacer).

I don't think this will do much of anything by simply twisting the air into a spiral. If anything, I'm inclined to believe that the airflow will be less smooth, negating any performance gains achieved by the 'spinning'.

Everyone who does have them only says they have very little gain in lower RPMs. Not worth 330 bucks plus shipping if you ask me.
Like Broggyr said with the spining air it may negate some performance.

And if you really wanted to see what people had to say about them and their experince ALOT of people have asked about them and have talked about them on here, do a search and you will find more reults then waiting for someone to post on your specific thread.

I got the Volant brand new off eBay for $202 shipped and I am in the process of taking a 3" brake duct and tubing and mounting to the front bumper.

I did search for the Econoaid and no hits..

I like the Brake Duct idea!
But as for the search you probably wont find anything for Econoaid, just search Throttle body spacer.
We would love to see pics of the install and when you get it done
