Ram 1500 vs 2500 MPG
I currently own a 2004 Ram 1500SLT. I get around 15 MPG average. I've been looking around and I can get a 2004 Ram 2500 for a good price. The 2500 is diesel to. What do people usually get on the 2500? Would I be seeing an increase, decrease, or the same? Trucks aren't my strong point so I figured Id ask people who know what they are talking about. Thx!
It's a 5.9L L6 DIR Turbo 6cyl Diesel engine. Sorry, I Should have put that. I don't know to much about diesel trucks.
Lol yes that would be the Cummins Turbo Diesel (CTD). Its one of the most coveted engines in the world. Especially around here. It will put your 1500 to shame both power wise and MPG wise. With a few mods it's a gnarly beast. Grab it while you can!
The 5.9 ctd will tow a hemi power truck and get better mpg than a hemi powerd Ram running empty, it all comes down to the rear end gearing that will dictate best mpg, I would wager the farm I dont own that a 410. rear will get better mpg towing up to 60 65 mph than a 373 diff, where as a 373 will get better mpg at at 70 to 75 depending at what your towing!!!
