Default Do Dodges have weird programming issues?

I'm only asking because I've noticed a couple of odd things about my truck and with my dads 2004.

1.) Auto door locks - The automatic door locks don't always work. Often times it works fine and will lock the doors as I drive away and hit 15mph(?) but there are enough times to notice, that it doesn't lock the doors at all.

2.) Courtesy headlights - When I turn my truck off and get out, it seems completely random whether or not the headlights will stay on for a few mins after the alarm is set like they're supposed to.

3.) On my dads 2004 his wipers act "funny". When on an intermittent setting they will wipe once, then rest for X amount of time, then wipe 2 times in a row, then rest, then wipe once, then rest then wipe 3 times in a row etc, randomly.

My fathers truck is most likely working just fine, it's in excellent shape with no problems, but his wipers are strange. My truck however could have it's share of problems, but in any case they are oddities I can't really think of an explanation for.

GRNDPNDR,

You might want to check if there are any outstanding recalls on the vehicles, if you have not already. You can PM me the VIN#'s or visit:

www.dodge.ca
Select “Vehicle Brand”
Select “Owners” at the bottom of the page
Select “Vehicle Recall Inquiry”
Select a brand and “View …Recall Notices”
Select “Get Recall Information”
Enter last 8 characters of the vehicle identification number (VIN) in the
space provide and Select “GO”.
“Here are your results”. It will list the vehicle with the complete VIN, a verbal description of the vehicle and recall, if any apply.

If there are no recalls and your concerns are increasing, I would recommend having the vehicle diagnosed by a Dodge dealer. They will be able to advise if there are any updates or repairs needed.

I don't know about the door locks but I completely randomly came across the operation of the courtesy headlights in the manual today.

They will only remain on IF you turn the engine off first, have the key in the ignition and then turn the headlight switch off.
