Default Coming or going, lifter noise.

I have a 05 4.7L. When started cold she pure like a comfortable kitty, for about the count of 15, then a lifter tapping like noise starts. Rises in volume and sounds like it has one or more lifters tapping, after about 2 minutes it fades away kvetch to be heard again no matter how I drive. Only does it when she's cold, but every time she's cold, after warmup, not there. Can't tell which side of motor, or where specifically its coming from. Could it be fan hub, AC compresser? Befuddled!

Does it sound like this?

Mine slaps a bit when cold, but that fades after about 15 seconds.

No, that's more a knock, mine is more a tapping, goes away in about a minute and a half, miter isn't even warm yet. But thanks for the reply. When you put your recorder under your truck, that sounds like a bearing whine.

If there was any whine it was caused by coolant on the serp belt. I've added 3,000 more miles to it since that video and it's still running just fine!
