'05 1500 QC vs '13 1500 RC LB
Well, they decided to jump up to a 2500 QCLB with a HEMI since there are more rebates for that model than a 1500. So right now they are looking at a couple 2500s and honestly at this point. If they get the 2500 QCLB that is near us at a dealer, I would be jumping up and down with joy since it is a Big Horn and has a pretty decent interior package. My only sad part of it would be the Electronic-Shift-on-the-Fly Transfer Case since it is yet another electronically managed part of the vehicle.
Side Point:
Who else thinks that electronics are taking over too many features of any car or truck?
I would be very happy with a carbureted 360, 5-speed manual and M.S.O.F Transfer Case in a truck as long as it was made by DODGE!

You might also mention to to your dad that with the used 05, it will not depreciate much at up to about 95k miles and two years or so. The new 13 however depreciates by a large margin the moment you sign the papers.
They decided to buy a '13 1500 CC in the Big Horn Package... It is actually sitting in the driveway at this very moment.
Thanks for all of the advice guys, but sometimes I just have to put-up with what I am given.
