Should I get a Flashpaq 3865
Ok, I have some questions. I'm looking at getting a 3865. I have an 03 4.7L, but it has the NGC PCM (which means no TMR delete for me). Would it be possible to use the advanced trans tuning since I have the newer pcm? I'm not planning on keeping this truck much longer, I'm looking for a 5.9L cummins. It wouldn't be a waste of money though, because when I get rid of this truck I can use the 3865 on my 09 Wrangler. So would this be the best choice for my truck, and later my Jeep? This 4.7L has been nothing but a disappointment, I don't even see why Dodge put this motor in a full size truck. The whole having to stomp on it to get it to downshift from O/D is my biggest complaint. And to top it off, I get like 13 MPG at best, wtf!

I have no complaints with my 4.7. It does what I want it to do with no problems at all. My complaint is with the to tall of gears that dodge for some reason put in the crappy rear end. The 13 mpg your getting is close to or just about the same as the hemis get. And if your looking to get better mpg with a ctd, look again you'll be getting worse and paying more per gallon for it

PS the best thing about diesels is when you start adding horsepower your mpg goes up/
I had an 03 ram 4.7 reg cab and honestly I was pushing 12 mpg with the wind pushing me usually hand calculated out to 10.5 or 11 mpg. I had researched tuners front and back and for that truck honestly I would not spend the money on one. There is something about the 03 ram and 4.7l engine that made it the least compatible engine and every tuner I could find that would work with it was over priced and super restrictive.
What I did and would recommend (take it or leave) find out exactly what jeep your going with and pair a tuner with the jeep and wait to be the tuner. Don't settle for one that will work with both vehics that may not ultimately be the one you would choose with your jeep.
Though if you want the 3865 for the jeep either way then why not go ahead if it works for the truck. I no longer have my 03 ram upgraded it and honestly cant remember which tuners worked with it or not.

Hey, thanks for the replies everyone. All of those replies were pretty much along the lines of what I was thinking. Yeah, I have lots of friends with diesels and they are lifted with big tires and they get way better mileage than me. Especially the 5.9s, without all the emissions crap on them. I already have the 09 jeep, I think I'll just get a tuner for that and maybe do gears on my 4.7L, or nothing and just get rid of it.
