Isn't no fluke. Talk to any transmission shop, They'll tell you the same thing. I have many friends that also have the same truck. at about 100000 miles the tranny starts to go or has gone. They have gotten done all the services by shops on time. you'll see what I'm talking about in a few thousand miles.
I'm well past 100k now and the truck still runs, drives, and shifts like new. My trans has been serviced once, drain, filter and fill, and that wasn't that long ago, and my diffs have been serviced once - by me, not that long ago. Should have all probably been done 2 or 3 times by now probably but the old fluids still looked good when they were drained out. I have towed 30' RV's with my truck since it was new. So if this problem is typical, if anyone should have had it, it should be me. Just sayin...
My dad's 45RFE shifts great.
Every once in a while there is a weird slip when romping on it, but I think that's the PCM's fault.
And to think, he's 6k over on his fluid change.
I still keep trying to get him to take it in and get it done.... lol
