Just Picked up an '03! What preventative maintenance?
Just confused where you get most 4x4s don't have LSD. All mine I owned have had them and they were all 4x4s. Just curious that is all.
As for checking maintenance you can go to dodge.com click on the owners tab create an account and then log in to it. You put your vin number in it and it will give you maintenance records if they have been reported plus you can look up what maintenance you need to do by putting in your mileage. Pretty neat info on there.

Chrysler will not provide maintenance records for someone who is not the original owner.
I bought it from a dealer so unfortunately I do not.
I had planned on a tranny flush and differential service so like I said I'm not opposed on spending money on things that will prevent catastrophic failure. How often are you supposed to replace plugs, and what is the pcv valve? I believe I do have LSD. I looked in the glove box, and there was something about anti-spin or something. I'll have to see what it says again.
I'll give that a shot, thanks!
Also, I forgot to mention, this is a secondary vehicle and will only get about 5k miles a year put on it so I may not even have it still by the time it rolls over to 100k miles.

"By the book", plugs are every 30K. Real world, more like 40K-50K. The PCV valve needs to be cleaned every 12K or so. If you clean it and the check-ball still doesn't move, it's time for a replacement. I cleaned mine several times before I replaced it.
Ok so I was wrong on mine having LSD.
Okay, now I'm confused... So do I need to worry about the retaining clips or not?
depends if you have a lsd or not, there may be a sticker in your glove box, or you can get your build sheet from here

or by sending a pm with your VIN to dodge cares, a member on here.

It says anti-spin differential so I do have LSD.
More service history showed up on the site, and I called the dealer and it turns out that a full tranny flush and both filters were changed just 3 months ago so that is great news because I was about to do it myself!

Now I'm going to do both differentials, a coolant flush, plugs and plug wires, clean the throttle body, replace the pcv valve, and air filter. I'm thinking I should be good to go then. Hopefully my mpg's will improve after all that because I'm getting 12-13 mpg right now combined city / highway.

"Anti-spin differential" and "Limited Slip Differential" are the same thing. Rambler called it "Dual-Traction", Pontiac called it "Saf-T-Track". Ford probably has a different name for it.
Flyinb are you doing the differentials yourself? If so and if you did do it already did you get a lot of metal flakes around the magnet in the rear? I just did mine and it was nasty. I don't think the previous owner didn't so I am glad I did it.

Yes, I am going to do it myself but haven't had a chance to yet. I'll report back when I do.
