Default light mods help

Hey i am new to the forum, and new to dodge and gas motors! I just bought a 2008 1500 big horn that has a four inch lift on it, with 35 inch tires. I am very happy with the power compared to my old truck a 97 f350 with 7.3, but am thinking i need to free some air up. I want to replace the y pipe and i don't know anything about how muffler shops work. Do i just buy the y pipe and they will add and fit new pipes that go from the cat to the y? or so i need to buy a y pipe that already has those pipes that are fit to go from the cat to the y and just have them weld it on? I am also thinking of getting a magna flow cat back with a dual exit same side, and a volant CAI. With the volant is it worth the money to get the top and bottom scoops, and do i have to have a special hood for the top scoop? Super-chip is the programmer i thought i would run, or diablo, i need to read more on those, but i was wandering if the programer helps to sharpen up shift points, because as it sits that is one of my only complaints with the truck and its power, i feel the transmission is in economy mode all the time or something and i cant get the power to the wheels. i am sorry for the questions that are probably obvious, but i am new to the game and eager to learn what is best. thanks for the help
Brett
