Question Truck Cap owners

I will be getting a Leer Cap for my Ram after the holidays. Wifey has approved this transaction.
I know there are a few on here that have Caps on your truck.
I'd rather have one with windows that open and have the sliders instead of pop-out ones.
Looking at models # 122, 180, 100R, 100XR

Any of you have any insight on this subject matter?

I recommend getting one that allows you to remove the front window to clean between the truck and cap. You'll also want something to protect your tail gate or it will get the paint worn through by the rear window shaking.
I have a tall ARE that's been married to my truck since 2004 and it is very good. It is "permanently" installed with caulking and teck screws. You'll also need to do some caulking inside of your bed to finish sealing things off.
I find that the lock freezes every year no matter what so I just leave it unlocked for the winter.
I cannot go underground because of the tall cap and this is a problem when on vacation but I can fit my skidoo in frontwards and backwards so that is good. Having a bed slider would be neat, if I had time and a welder I would make one.

Thanks. I have the Line-X Bedliner that extends over the edges of the bed. Definitely getting one with a slider to get to the front of the cab. I will be looking into a permanently installed one.
I didn't think about a taller cap prohibiting me from going into garages. I may need to go with a standard size cap, other than the tall one because of that. Thanks for the heads up.

I bought an Eagle used off craigslist. Before I put it on I ran new weather striping on the bottom so it didn't rub my bed. I just use clamps as I take if off sometimes. I mostly just use it for traveling so i don't have to pack the cab.

If I could have had a choice of any type of cap I would have gotten one with no window or side acces at all. Caps are too easy to break into and I perfer someone isn't able to see into my bed easily. But I found this one for a great price in great shape so I took it.

Nice cap. I would have bought that one too. If I can find a nice used one, I'll go that route.
I will definitely need to do some more research before buying one.
If I do go with a new cap, it will more than likely be a Leer. I like the way they look
on the Ram and the paint will match the factory color of the truck.
Having a local dealer makes its easy too.
