Default I'm wondering what this hose is? its probably the most stupid question ever

ok i've been looking at this hose that is plugged up and tied to other hoses up by my battery since i bought my truck, it is a black hose plugged up that runs under the track somewhere, i lose it, but i think it runs into the converter i think the name is, when it comes to the non engine stuff you can call me an idiot i promise i won't get mad in fact i'll agree with you, so i have a couple of pics if anyone can tell me that would be cool because maybe it is supposed to just be plugged and put somewhere or maybe the person i bought it from is worse than i am lol so can you help me out?

Diff vent tube. That white piece is a one way check valve. Lets fluid gases out, keeps crap out.
