It would be a lot of work trying to make it work. Personally I would say just leave it the way it is. But its your truck and if you do decide to try and make a ram air set up, take some pictures and let us know how it works.

i was looking into it add its probably not even worth doing, i seen some people have the jet stream scoop, but that kinda just looks like an expensive piece of plastic, anyone have any experience with these? is it worth 40 bucks?

There just isn`t really much if anything to be gained with a ram air set up on these trucks. The stock set up is already a cold air intake, so maybe adding a K&N air filter to the stock air box might make a little difference and save you a lot of money.

I have one of those jet stream scoops. I can't really tell a difference from it but i am also making some ducting to connect it to my BFI to see what effect that has.

I did it. The scoop was originally a stick on band aid to hide a dent where a tree limb fell down on my hood.

I needed the passenger side to mount the 2nd battery tray so I decided to cut the hood under the scoop, cut out the front of the scoop, make a small grill for the cutout out of gutter mesh and re-route my existing CAI under the scoop witha piece of PVC and a 45* elbow.

Nothing hard about it, was a single day job.

Unless your cai is fully sealed to the underside of the hood you aren't getting any cold air like that. There is no ram air effect on these trucks with a scoop like the one you have.

No sh*t, but it's no different/worse than the original K&N setup with the cone filter at the side of the engine bay and probably a tad better since fresh air does come in the opening of the scoop. I was more answering to the fact it could be moved under a scoop without much trouble.

The only REAL CAI I've seen is the Vararam, but I can't use it since it gets the cold air from below where I'd be in mud/water at times...

Just seems like a waste to put a ****ter pipe intake under the hood of a nice truck when you aren't seeing any benefit from it.
