Default Towing Mirror Damages

Someone at my Son's college decided to hit the driver's side towing mirror. I guess it could have been worse as I don't think they damaged anything else. I can get a Mopar one for $200 but an after market one for half that so I think I will try the after market one. I don't plan on using the truck so much for towing in the furture anyway. Not sure how someone could get that closed to it and its kind of high for a car.

Mine is a power heated mirror so I don't want to put a manual one on there.

I put a replacement mirror on today. Also cleaned out my heater core. The heat is much better now.

I had the same thing happen to me this weekend and now my mirror doesn;t lock in it's normal place. Now it locks in place at ten o'clock. Is there a way to fix it without having to buy a new one? It's on the drivers side and heated if that makes any difference or helps.
