Moving up to Fourth Gen
Hey guys, its been fun but today I went and bought a 2014 Ram Express, Maximum Steel Quad cab with Hemi,3.92 axle LSD, and all the rest of the new goodies, with the chrome 20's. So I guess I'll be hanging out in the 4th gen now. Thanks to everybody and y'all have fun and be safe...Old Man

I've not had any experience with previous years of the HEMI, but mine has the 6spd with 3.92s, it's also a 4x4, and I got about 20ish on the interstate during my 900 mile trip to Louisiana. That was with only a couple hundred pounds of stuff. Speeds averaged to about 70 to 75. I honestly didn't even get to use the MDS for most of the trip as my RPMs were too high.

I got the 3.92's also and had them on my 06 and the mds rarely kicked in on the interstate, but always seemed to kick in at low speeds, but if you're getting 20 on the interstate that's a lot better than my 06's 16-18....Thanks for the info. I pick mine up in the morning after they put a hitch on it, so then I'll be able to watch the mileage. I've got an 06 with mods for sale if anyone is interested

Odd. My MDS enabled constantly. City, highway all the time. Definately on the highway. I've got 3:92's as well.
I bought a tuner to strictly disable that annoyance and useless function. Can';t keep a 6,000lb truck at a steady speed anyways.
I get 16.5-17 on the highway MDS disabled. SO, +3mpg would be correct.
