Yea I looked at those wheels awhile back. Really like the 079 series with the superfinish but started doing some research on those brand rims and people were complaining about them oxidizing really bad and they didn't have the wheel very long..that is the real bad thing about chrome and aluminum is that it likes to oxidize quick..but its still a possibility..i want a wheel that is gonna last me a long time

Would the machined and black wheels look right with the chrome or is that introducing another factor into that?

A lot of the machined/black wheels have a clear coat so they shine up good and they're protected from salt and corrosion.

You can see some shine on these. I think it would look cool.

I think it would look great but that's just my opinion.

Have you tried gel gloss on your chrome. It worked wonders on mine. Had to rub a bit but it took off baked on brake dust and what corrosion there was on chrome and made them look like new. then I just waxed them. you can get Gel gloss at ant hardware store its for cleaning marble countertops If really stuborn you can put the gel gloss on white scotch brite and rub gently wont scratch chrome

Not a fan of those dick cepek wheels at all..my neighbor has them on his truck and I think they look like crap on his black truck..and as for that gel gloss, djibara, its just the edge lip of the rims that look like crap..basically the aluminum lip is the only thing really wrong with the wheels now..almost like they are oxidizing and the clear is wearing off

IMO, what makes black wheels look bad on trucks is when the stock tire or tire size is used. If your going to get a off road style wheel like a method racing or others, a larger tire is necessary.

I have an 03 with the XD addicts (plastic bolts removed) with 305/70/17 tires. My tires are 34x12.5. I've seen the same truck, same wheel but with smaller, less aggressive tires and it just doesn't work out.

What is your plan on the truck? Stock suspension, lifted, lowered, preferred wheel size?

Well my truck is leveled right now and prolly will be that way for awhile as I wont be able to fit in garage if I put a lift on it..But just bought new tires before winter and got the stock size toyo open country at2. Love the tire by the way. So to answer your question, stock all terrain tire is what I have and will stay with

I'm not a fan of the completely blacked out look, although you have a little chrome, I don't think it would look better with black wheels. I know if u go to discount tires .com and put in vehicle specifics, then shop for wheels, it will show you what the wheels you choose will look like on your model and color vehicle.
