Hey Guys,

I know a typical new Superchips thread is frowned upon around here due to the abundance...but I can't find the Superchips thread that we could comment on, and the sticky is locked and doesn't have what I am looking for, I also tried to take it directly to the Superchips.com forum, but I have tried several times to register and it never sends me the activation email, no filters on, not in spam, tried a few different address, nothing, so I dunno what's going on there...

Anyway, I was looking for the differences between "various models" No, not like Flashpaq vs Cortex...but a while back, it was Flashpaq 3825 for our trucks, then 3865, and now 3842. I was wondering the differences to see if it's worth looking for used previous models to save some cash if it fits all of my needs, or if I should break down and get the newest version.

As usual, any help is greatly appreciated.

Thank You in Advance,
Eric

Looks to me like they just improved some of the eco-aspects of the new one, carb compliant, etc, and also some programming improvements to let them put the powertrain warranty on it. I bet it doesn't do any better than the 3865 as far as power and economy. Personally, I would definitely go for a used model, there are usually some for sale on this or another forum, if you watch for a couple weeks you will find one. You should be able to get one for 100-150 bucks, then you can get the trans tuning also, which you definitely will want. Maybe somebody else has firsthand experience comparing the two, but from the look of it, doesn't seem any better than the 3865 to me.

Is that the major difference between the 3825 and the 3865...trans tuning?

Thanks for the info, it was very informative. I am definitely looking at used or NOS.

Not sure offhand if that's the only difference, most of the info on this site is with reference to the 3865, idk if superchips still updates the 3825 or not. You're more likely to find the 3865 in the for sale section. The cortex is also the same as the 3865, just tunes more vehicles.

First, off, 3825 was for LX cars so that model will do you no good. For the trucks there are (were) 3714 (03 hemi only), 3715, 3815, 3865 (has trans tuning & datalogging), 3950 (Cortex) and the new 3842.

I must have mixed up 3815 for 3825
