Default what programmer to get??

05 ram 2500 hemi nv4500 4.10 gears......... don't need the trany tunes with my stick, lol........ found some used ones on cl, for a few hundred bucks...... i have a cai ordered, and i have a super 44 delta flow fm muffler..... stock 3 inch single exhaust..... had duels on my 03 koda, no more duel pipes for me, too common today i like originality..... i'll be like every other hemi truck guy if i put duels out the back.............. if anything i'll go 4" cat back someday straight pipes.... but i would really like to go 3 inch from the engine with the duel cat system into 4 inch straight pipe single, but anyways....... without the trany tunes, what is a good tuner for a stock hemi with a cai, and a less restrictive muffler?? from user experience, i know i'm gonna get mixed reviews.

I'd get in touch with Sean from Hemifever.

If you don't intend to go deep into mod world (cam, etc) then a Superchips will be fine. If you do, or you want to custom tune it to get the most you can out of your combo, then Sean can hook you up with custom tunes and you will need at least a Predator (not made anymore) or a Trinity (both Diablo).

All I have is an aftermarket Flowmaster 40. I do not plan to go deep into the mod world by any means, and the Diablo from HemiFever has still provided me with a good power gain. What you fail to realize is that Sean will write you a custom tune if your vehicle needs it, as well as provide with you with free updates. As soon as you get your tune installed, he asks you to program the data logger for additional parameters, you make some quick runs, and send it to him. He'll look at them, analyze, and tweak as necessary. I'm currently running a custom 93 tune that he asked me to try out. It really woke up the HEMI. Just today I hit 115 on the highway just for shiggles (sh*ts and giggles) with a fellow Airman that I work with.

On an everyday vehicle that may choose to use cheapest gas possible, squeezing for every drop of power is not good. You need some leeway and a canned tune provides you just that. We do drive just trucks in the end...

Superchips Flashpaq = $349
Diablo Intune = $389
For someone who is not interested in trans tune, Superchips is cheaper.

I've had both. They are very similar but I feel the Superchips has the edge over Diablo. I think Diablo reserves some power to be gained by custom tuning because that is what they try to sell. I feel they are just holding back a little which is why gains can be had.

A canned tune is just a blanket tune that generally works for most engines. I'll pay the extra to have it adjusted if it needs it, and to get all of the extra benefits from Sean. He does a great job and his customer service is second to none. My tuner was $489, and every dollar of it has already been justified.

That's fine. I spent $319 and have been very happy myself. Yes, Price has gone up some and I did get free trans tune back in '09 when it first came out.

Blanket tune for most engines? Yeah, it's more refined than that... Superchips did plenty of dyno pulls on the Hemi for all years and made tweaks accordingly. I'm satisfied with their canned tune. It did seem a bit more than Diablo for reasons stated already. There cannot be but a few minor differences from one healthy Hemi to the next. Just find that hard to believe. But, if you want to squeeze every drop, then you ned to spend more which you did. I'm just not into my truck enough to go that far. I've always owned a sports car or other toy I did that stuff to.

Hell, I just have a need for speed. I want my truck to be as fast as it can be. A couple months ago I had my truck up to 130, and it was awesome! Now I know it's no Lamborghini, but i'll have you know I secretly raced a Corvette today. Being the turd that most sports car owners are, he didn't want to break 85. I figured - screw it, the speed limit was already passed 40mph ago.

are we done measuring our dicks boys??? how old are you late teens, early 20s? only reason i ask is because nobody said "my dad this" "my dad that".......... i asked a question, so lets put the tape measures away.......... bone stock hemi, cai, super 44 flowmaster 3" stock single pipe, no other mods, thats what my vmax is for 150 horsepower bike 0-60 in 4 sec. flat.... thats my toy. my truck is for transportation to and from, not to race everybody.... it's a truck a 4x4 2500 heavy duty built for pulling and towing, not racing, just looking to get a little more potential out of this engine nothing more. sorry to be blunt, but it is what it is.
