Default Torque and RPM Question

I know this is probably a common question, but Based on the specs of my engine...

Standard Engine 4.7L 235 hp V8
Horsepower 235 @ 4800 RPM
Torque (lb-ft) 295 @ 3200 RPM

I assume I have to rev my engine to the specified RPM to get these horsepower / Torque numbers?

If my assumption is correct then as impressive as the numbers are for the newer Ram v6 engines

Standard Engine 3.6L 305 hp V6
Horsepower 305 @ 6350 RPM
Torque (lb-ft) 269 @ 4800 RPM

Then I wouldn't get those number without revving my engine to the specified RPM?

I just want to make sure I understand how to read these numbers.

The big difference in max HP is achieved after 4800 RPM. At 4800 RPM the V6 is 245 compared to the 235 on the V8. I think the new V6 have acheived good maximum torque numbers though.

I believe the later model 4.7 engine was quite a bit higher than yours.
