Default superchips 3815 or 3842??

I have a 2002 ram 1500 5.9L. I know that the 3815 is the old version and the 3842 is the newest version for my truck. Money aside, is there any difference between each of these? will they both do the same thing for my truck? or will one do more than the other?

The other question is, ive read that these can damage the tranny, particularly the 46re? (i think thats the one my truck has, correct me if im wrong) is this true and what exactly are the risks?

Please give me all your opinions!

The tunes will be the same, as for the trans, as far as I know unless you have an 04 or newer 545, it doesn't do anything. No trans tuning for the older vehicles.
