towing capacity of 02 ram 1500 5.9
anyone know the towing capacity off hand? not really sure if i understand what the sticker in door tells me. it said GVWR front 3900 Rear 3900, the in top right corner 6650.
basically, this weekend i plan on towing a car that weighs about 3700-3900 LB on a flat bed car trailer weighing i would guess around 2k LB. so total upwards of about 6k. when i towed by boat around, which was only about 3700 LB alone, it didnt really like that. so i am a little concerned considering it will be about a 500 mile trip with a couple pretty good grades. what do you guys think?
Also, is there anyway to tell for sure if i have the towing package on my truck? i am not the original owner so im not sure. i mean, the hitch looks factory so im thinking so. are there different levels of the towing package?
