Question Tonneau cover, TopUp A.R.E. on my 2006 dodge Ram

I have an awesome tonneau cover on my truck. LINK http://www.4are.com/product/pdfs/ARE_TopUp_Camper.pdf
I bought it used and it fit perfectly. In doing research I have found that they stopped making these after about 4 years of production. 2006 to 2010 i think. The issue i have is that one of the hydraulic cylinders has started leaking. I went to a shop in town and they said they have no idea what to use for a replacement cylinder. Wondering if anyone has experience with finding a specific cylinder or if they have one of these very unique covers. These covers have a vertical scissor lift system and it is pretty awesome, i just need to get mine back to working again. The cover rises vertically to 6+ feet above the truck bed.

Very cool top. I have never seen one like that before. Unfortunately I don't have much useful to say that can help you. I know you said this particular one is out of production, but have you tried contacting the manufacturer?

I too acquired a lid for my truck that was out of production. I just measured the lift shock at both the closed and extended positions and looked on ebay. They are rated by lbs, so if you know how much your lid weighs, you should have no problem.

You might just give A.R.E. a call and ask them.

A year and a half later... just remember about this?

I'm guessing you haven't gotten it fixed yet?
