Default Airbag Recall - S43/NHTSA 16V-352

Well kids. It looks like there is a new airbag recall for Dodge vehicles, and this is for the passenger's side airbag. I received the initial notice and have to wait for a follow-up.

Hi Gary,

I'm sorry for the inconvenience. If you'd like, you can head to recalls.mopar.com and sign up to receive an email notification as soon as the parts are available.

It'll be '04 and newer, and yeah, right now it's interim.

How long does it take to get these notices, and can I have the dealer schedule a repair without having gotten the notice? My vin is listed in all current airbag recalls.

Hi Prismatic,

You do NOT need a notice for your dealership to perform the recall. As long as your VIN is included, they will be able to perform the recall. Let me know if you need any assistance making an appointment.

Hey Kori,

I'm not blaming Dodge at all. This Takata Airbag issue is a never-ending can of worms. What's surprising is this has affected my Dodge but not my Mazda. I just had my truck serviced for the driver's side airbag recall earlier this year.

Thanks for monitoring the boards and providing input for everyone. I wanted to start this thread since it's a different airbag issue and not everyone may be aware (as has already been demonstrated).
