Default Looking to buy Ram 1500, advice needed

Hello:

Next week I am going to purchase a Dodge Ram 1500 crew cab with the HEMI engine. I wanted to know if there are any particular years I should avoid? Also any years if I come across that are better than others? My budget is to be under $15,000. Thank you in advance for your help!

What 3rd gen version have you been looking at? 2005 was the last version of the scalloped headlights. 2005 was a great year, they figured out all the problems from the beginning 3rd gens and then came the 2006 changes. 2006 switched headlights and interior design but, also went to the the variable cylinder design(drops down cylinders to save fuel). I'm fan of my 2005. Currently have 199,000 miles and a champ! Normal stuff wears out, but cheaper than a new truck!

Ok, good to know. Do you know of any other years that are good to get? I see a few 2005, and that seems to be a good year for them.

The next big changes were in 2009; so I'm purely assuming 2008's would have all the bugs worked out from 06-08. But, whatever you decide, avoid the Fiat Dodge Rams. I've heard nothing good from anyone that owned a Dodge/Chrysler/Jeep that's been built while under the Fiat Corp
