Default Overcharging

So I have a 2007 Dodge Ram 5.7 and I changed the battery wires to bigger one but now my battery is overcharging I’ve been doing this for a long time and have never had this issue do I need to add the smaller wire back or just go back factory?

Update: I found the issue the voltage regulator in the pcm is telling the alt to run constant 15 or higher even with a load so I have ordered another pcm thanks for the responses

Measured by the dash gauge or voltmeter?
Had a voltmeter once. Got it as a promo from Harbor Freight. Showed 18v charging. Checked another car. 18v. Got out my ancient Radio Shack. 14.6v. It was the voltmeter. I can't see how bigger gauge wires would cause over charging.
