Default driving light/fog light ***need more lights in front***

I have a new to me 2005 1500 4 door 4.7 4wd. Looking to get more light out of the front end but still be road legal. Wanting to add a set of driving/fog lights in lower grill. There is a cut out but no wiring. So I was going to relay it out so when I have high beams on they are off. Basically what they would be if the factory lights were there. My question to the group is would you use factory style lights or aftermarket with home made fab brackets ect.

Do you have the factory driving lamps in the bumper? If not, add those. You may want to sand/polish your headlamp housings and replace the bulbs and see where you are with it more like it was designed.

I added the oem lights to my 05 because it didn’t come with them. I had to buy the following items to make them work

new headlight switch. The switch **** has to pull out to make the lights come on

lights obviously. I got them off of eBay from a dealership that was selling them. It ran about $120. It’s been awhile so I’m sure they went up.

the wiring that goes along the from bumper.
it was the wire that links the 2 light together.

Most 3 gen rams have the wire coming from the fire wall to the front bumper. There should be an empty plug left front corner of the bumper. The wire you have to buy connects to this

put all that together and it’s been working ever since. No extra programming or anything
