Heck yeah! Put them expensive, aftermarket, over-hyped, do-nothing parts on your truck. It's the stickers that come with the products that actually add the HP and make you faster!
K&N increases throttle response time and Flowmaster makes a good sound. That's all. Search the board for many, many, many, many, many etc., etc, posts on this very same subject.

I just have to say those vortex generators look absolutely ridiculous!

If you don't like the look of vortex generators
there is an alternative.

Look at the slanting bar just behind the rear window of the GM Avalanche.
Look at the slanting bed side on the Honda Ridgeline.

Both of those body changes from the 'traditional' pickup shape are to reduce
the low pressure area behind the rear window...the same effect as a vortex generator.

The small lip above the rear window on the 3rd Gen Dakota
called a 'roofline extension spoiler' or RES
is also there to partially tame the same thing.

As to Vortex Generators
they can be 'disguised'
like they are on the rear C pillars of GM Suburbans
where small ones are built into that black plastic vent with notches.

Cool RE: Better gas milage with K&N air filter & Flowmaster exhaust

Yes I have done both to my 2004 Ram Hemi 5.7lt. Gas milage on HWY has improved but no noticable difference in the stopping and starting driving! I am ready to do a sparkplug replacement, looking for any advice on this job that any members may have! Thanks!

Default Better Gas Mileage

About 5 months ago I put a Magnaflow muffler in place of the 2 ton stock one and took out the resanator and kept the system 3". The sound is great and not as loud as the Flowmaster. I didn't see any gain in mileage either around town or on the freeway.
I just put on an Airaid complete dry system and have to say that the increase in hp/tq is really terrific...............Airaid claims 20hp/20tq.....and
I am a believer. I have raced a couple of Fords......left them in the dust, more than one Chevy.......wasn't even a race..........and did pretty well against a new 2011 Hemi.
Around town I used to get 12/13mpg...........and now it's 14/15 if I keep my foot out of it. I can't wait to see what I get on the highway and towing my race car.........
Oh yes, Airaid now has C.A.R.B for their Dodge Hemi intake systems, I was one of the first to get one and had to have Airaid send me the C.A.R.B stickers.

It'll take a very long time to offset the cost.
