Smile CB radio & antenna on 3rd gen

Hi folks,
I'm planning to buy/install CB radio and antenna next summer. Could you please share your experience/pictures of setup ? I've found for 2nd gen but I'd like to see setup on 3rd gen. Thx.

Well I figured this would make a good first post as any, I have dual 4 foot Firestik antennas with a Cobra 18 WX ST II radio, works pretty good for my antennas not being tuned. Heres some pics (hope they work):

Looks very nice. I have a bed cover so such placement of antennas will not work for me but can you also picture how cable goes from cab to bed? Please... :-)

Ahh ok, well they do make offset mounts but they would show the coax cable hanging out then. The cable runs through the stakeholes and i brought it up through a drain plug in the back that i drilled a hole in and sealed it with silcone.

The plug is under the rear seat and just popped out with a flathead, I then ran the cable under the carpet and to the cup holder where I have it mounted:

Agree, nice setup.
MGC, did you break this plastic to put CB radio or it could be open easily? I didn't try but I'll try if you'll tell me that you didn't break this plastic :-). And big THX for pictures!

Thanks guys. Well taking the cupholder off was a pain, there were four screws and it still wouldn't come out so I yanked it out, which cracked some of the plastic backing yet most of the backing is useless. I ended up drilling holes in it and using a bracket to hold it in place. The only problem with the set up is I can't close the cupholder, but I can still use it.

That's sucks man. In 3rd gen there is much less space then in 2nd gen

ive seen them behind the cubby if you dont have sliding rear window, and it looked almost stock

as for antenna, im not crazy about them sticking up so you can mount them in between the bed and cab...less reception but doesnt look as tacky
