SRT10??? POSTED THIS IN THE SRT10 FORUM AND NOT MUCH RESPONCE HELP PLEASE!!!
i was at the dealership yesterday and my friend that was with me was looking at a 06 QC SRT10, a question that he had was could the truck tow heavy loads like the dodge ram 1500 that have the 5.7 hemi. the salesman told us that it would out tow my truck easy.... im finding this hard to believe because i thought these trucks were set up to GO FAST, NOT HAUL LOADS. any input would be great
I thnk they few who own this truck do not buy it for towing but a quick google searck truned this up -
It generates 500 horsepower and 525 pound-feet of torque that will thrust drivers deep into the sport seats. Regular-cab versions get a modified six-speed manual transmission. A heavy-duty rear differential is said to improve acceleration off the line. The less extreme Ram SRT10 Quad Cab is equipped with a beefed-up four-speed automatic transmission. This transmission and other mechanical upgrades enable an 8,150-pound maximum towing capacity that actually makes the SRT10 Quad Cab practical and — one could argue — a logical choice for those who tow big boats, campers, horse trailers and the like.

Obviously the engine generates more power and torque than any other stock gas engine and almost as much as the Diesel (torque) so as long as the truck suspensionis designed to tow, I have no doubt this truck will tow circles aroung the "hemi".

thanks, yeah ive seen a few web sites that support that and a few that say it shouldnt be used to haul anything... beats me????
well, i think they say no because its a "sports truck" so to speak. they think of it as not a daily driver. you know, they Viper of trucks, which it technically is. but i dont see anything wrong with hauling! i think it depends on how often and how much he is hauling.
