GAS PRICES!!!!!

Gas prices make me want to sell my truck and get like a WRX or something.

Obviously we need fuel no matter what we drive. I dont drive my MegaCab regularly. I either drive the old crappy mini van or ride the Harley. It costs about $75 for the MC, $45 for the van and $12 for the bike. One thing that we can all do to try to force the prices down is to only get $20 bucks or maybe 1/2 a tank at a time. But it has to be a collective effort that would directly effect volume. But most of us dont want to be put out and stop twice as many times.
I think, too, that no matter what we are at the mercy of the stock market. Those are the guys actually setting prices based, right ? One thing that really gets my goat is that the prices go up by the second. But when the price of gas goes down, its not realized at the pump right away. Thats directly related to distributors and local stations greed.
ive been thinking about this alot lately, i know its way, way far fetched but just think what kind of impact it would have if some of the larger shipping companies ie: snyder, tyson, frieghtmasters, shaffer, etc. would go on strike for a few days or a week. what damage that would cause to the nations economy and would force big oil companies to adjust prices!!!! my 2 cents
Motorider228 Honestly, I know this.. But think back to when Democrats were in office (Clinton era). Do you remember the good ole days of $1.45 a gallon gas.....?????? Come on now, it wasn't that long ago.....And if like 4 years wasn't enough, not to add the movie (Farenheit 911) they still go ahead and reelect the same REPUBLICAN into office............................................ .for another 4 years.
And they wonder why the economy sucks.........................
Insane-Doing something, knowing the results, then doing it over and over, and expecting a different outcome..

We're at $2.69 here in Lebanon, PA.
I don't think the drama at the pumps will end too soon. Maybe after Bush leaves office, assuming a Democrat takes his place, but, even then, I don't think we're ever going to see prices sustained below $2. Short term, maybe a slight drop due to the Iran tensions ending, but not much.

Are you kidding me? The hostage situation was an EXCUSE to raise the gas prices in the first place.....Within a couple of days, they will look, and find another reason to raise it even HIGHER..........
Just my 2 cents:
1) The biggest misunderstanding that people have is that most of the oil in the US is imported from the middle east. This is FAR from the truth.....I believe the number was something like only20% is imported from the middle east.
2) The main reason we pay so much for fuel is greed...how else would the CEO from Mobil/ Exxon who retired get $135 million for retirement......
3) As an engineer, the whole thing doesn't make sense.....they cut the workforce to increase profits, utilize engineering to increase output and productivity, and utilize brainless computers instead of people (no health benefits fora computer) and they still raise the price.
As I said when I started my rant...Just my 2 cents

Yeah it's all a profits game. Like how they raise the cost of natural gas during high petroleum prices. Funny thing is 95% of the natural gas in my area comes from Canada. They use whatever reason they can to raise the prices to make more money.
Pirata, My truck is paidin full so it is at no expense to me anymore therefore I can afford the vehicle its self. Being 19 and being a full time student it's hard for me to work alot and the pay checks I do get I would rather go towards things that are more fun for me than filling my gas guzzling beast up. I love the truck but as I do not really need a truck that much anymore since I sold my motorcycles I see no point to be paying for $3.10 gallons of gas just to fill it up again in the near future. If gas was $2.63 a gallon for me I wouldn't be complaining at all. Actually, I haven't paid $2.63 a gallon in over a year.
