07 Ram 1500 gauge shorting
Does anyone have an 07 Ram 1500or other model with problems with the courtesy lights/gauge backlighting shorting out?
Somehow the side of the gauge cluster that controls the backlights and courtesy lights shorts out (drawing 70 amps and then creating a dead short at the fuse) and blows the 15 amp fuse at the under-hood box. My dealer orignally diagnosed the problem as the amp, stereo, siren, and satellite radio I put in as the problem. After I personally removed all the equipment (I do this for a living), the problem persisted. They had to get a replacement cluster from Dearborn. It's something they call a Star Part and there's some BS they apparently have to go through to get it. It was fixed on 03-01-07 and just failed again over the weekend.
Is anyone having a similar problem and is there a recall/TSB that I haven't been able to find? I haven't done a lot of searching, but I haven't found anything yet.
Thanks in advance.
