going to the track
go to the street and strip section and read the drag racing 101 sticky at the top that patrick posted. its very helpful. just some things to remember, if you have street tires, drive around the burnout box. it will actually hurt traction to do a burnout on street tires before your run. you could try running it in o/d off as it holds out your gears a little longer, and when you roll up to the line (assuming you have an automatic) use your left foot to hold the brake, and use your right foot on the gas pedal to bring your rpms up just high enough that if you go anymore you will spin the tires, but not high enough to actually spin them. then when the light turns green, floor it. this will get you a harder launch without loosing traction if you do it right. just read the sticky i mentioned earlier and you should be fine. btw what are the specs on your truck? what engine, 4x4 or 4x2, single cab or quad cab, short or long bed, what size wheels and tires, and what gear ratio do you have?
yeah i think mid to high 16s for your first run and once you get the hang of it maybe less, but i dont know. im plannin on tryin to run my truck at the track sometime soon, but i havent had the chance yet.
