Dropped the Ram finally!
I have a few questions for you, first did you have to notch your frame for this kit?
second do u hit the bump stops alot if u didnt notch the frame and with the kit u used did it just use blocks or did it do springs as well in the rear? Been looking into lowering my Ram for over a year now... I have a 2006 1500 and I wanna go as low as i can without notching the frame. Thanks for the help
P.S. Your Ram looks awesome lowered

i didnt have to notch my frame and i have plenty of room on mine...about the only time i hit the bump stops is when i got the bed loaded down and hit some nasty bumps...the mcgaughy's kit uses a rear flip kit, shackles, shock extenders and thats it, the front is just a set of springs.....it's a really easy install and only takes a few hours
you should be able to do a 3/5 or possible even a 4/6 drop without notching the frame but i'm not sure

Hey HemiYellow,
Can you give me the complete details on your setup? I have a 2005 QC we are setting up for my daughter with the true 22" SRT wheels and 305/40/22 Cooper Tires and can't seem to land on the right lowering kit. She want a 4" / 6" dropby McGaughy but i'm concerned that thewheels/tiresextend beyond the fenders and will they will come in contact so we may have to go with a 3" / 4.5" kit. What works for a 2005 1500 QC?

Hey PC HOTROD
Really like the look of the SRT Wheels I'm torn between the lowering and the lowering. I know that's crazy. Can't afford another Ram because Iwant to do the same thing you did. I think a 2/4 drop will be cool. But then I think of raising it abot 3" with a 33" tire.My trucks a 4 x 2 andI know the lowering will help the MPG because of the least resistance and raisinug it hinders it. Plus the wife hates a tall truck. Iguess I'll flip a coin.

Thanks DaHipa,
My daughter perfers a lifted truck but since it was 4x2 I told here we could drop it instead. We originally gave her the option to take my Wife's Chrysler Crossfire but she decided that since she races Motocross that she would be better suited bya truck when going to the race track.

I'm looking forward to yellowhemi's response about if his 4" & 6" drop causes his SRT wheel/tire combo tags the fenders. His respose will help me pull that credit card out and make the order.

I combined a DJM 2/4" drop with 22" rims over 4 years ago and haven't experienced any rubbing issues. Not even while hauling my sportbike in the bed or pulling the 5x8 trailer+ loaded bed. Hope that helps.
