Default Dealer Sticker Removal

I hate stickers on my truck and want a safe way to remove the dealer sticker without damaging the paint finish. It's a oval sticker on the bottom left of the tailgate. Any suggestions? I have a product called Goof-Off and it does a good job at removing the sticker residue but I'm afraid it will also remove the paint finish or even the paint.

Hi Moodie,

Fishing line, it's plastic and about the best way I know of. Set it up like you were flosing your teeth, wrap it around your index fingers and pull it under the dealer badge.

If it is a sticker try a hair dryer to heat up the decalto loosen the glue.

Heat gun (being careful not to let the paint get too hot), and automotive safe adhesive remover with a soft cloth. Very easy to do.

Good info above.

I use the around 20-30lb mono fishing line to take off the badge, then use either a 3M wheel or elbow grease and a solvent to remove the adhesive.

keni just de bagged my truck today. fishing line will be perfect, stronger than floss might hurt your fingers wrapping it around so i would wear gloves. and the goo gone will work but i used 3M adhesive remover instead. there will be black stuff from the badges that i scrapped off with my finger nail before i used the remover! after that its just straight glue thats on your paint and the remover wont mess up your paint at all but keep in mind that you will have to buff and wax your truck damn near to get the marks where your badges where off. took me about 1 hour to do my whole truck, only thing i didnt take off was the hemi logo on the fenders
