I have been a drag racing junkee for 15 years now. There is SOO much to learn and so many ways you can achieve an ET. And I love to help others achieve their goal. With my experience, I can get you to the number you want, for very little money, but you have to follow my recommendation or you are wasting your time. So, how fast you want to go? ;-)

you notice he posted that at midnight, and what are you doing up at 3am anyway!?! lol

OK, hemiyellow, you are looking to drop 3 seconds. Here is what you "can" do. If you want to continue to use the tires you have, take off the tonneau cover, and add 2 50 lb. sandbags as close to the tailgate as you can. That will put the weight where you want it for traction. Also take anything out of the truck that you can to save weight. And I mean ANYTHING. Soda cans, papers, tools, if it wasnt there when you bought it, it dont need to be there for the track.

As for mods, I recommend a 3200 stall converter with at least a 2.6 STR, so that you can get your 60' times down. A set of long tubes into a custom catback will also be very beneficial. A shift kit with custom tuning will work wonders on these trucks too!

What I have listed so far will drop you a good 1.5 seconds from your current time. To get the other 1.5 seconds will require either a 100 shot of nitrous, a supercharger, turbo, or heads/cam package. MY suggestion is to go with the nitrous. The main reason is because its cheaper, the others are thousands of dollars to buy AND install. Another good reason is that on a 100+ degree day, when you spray nitrous, it also cools the engine, and cold engines run better than hot ones so you have an advantage. Nitrous is also a LOT easier to tune...

And lastly, the best piece of advice I can give you is free as far as mods go. Practice! Its the best mod you can do to better your times.

With my mods listed below I was able to do a 13.89 in my QC, so you don't necessarily need NOS or forced induction to make it into the 13's. There are several other QC guys into the 13's as well and they have done so without having to spend thousands of dollars on tuning or big cam/head combos.
