Brake Upgrade for the Ram
I have a 2004 Quad cab and would like to upgrade the braking system. Does anyone have suggestions on different rotors and possibly calipers to help stop 3 tonsof truck? I'm not looking to spend a fortune and not planning on running NASCAR. Thanks for the help.
I've read some bad things about the cross drilled rotors that they can crack under HD use. On the other hand, one company that sells them says to avoid slotted rotors because they cut into brake pads and increase wear. Do most people feel that the ceramic pads are the way to go? How about a good paint brand orsystem to paint calipers and have it last.
i had the ceramic pads on my old truck and i loved them. Autozone sells some paint made specifically for brake components but i've never used it so i'm not sure about the quality or how long it would last.

Right now I'm trying to figure out how to put SRT10 brakes on - I'm all about the low buck.

Powerslot rotors and Hawk pads, this seems like the most popular choice from every Ram owner on every forum I've seen. I'd go with slots everytime, drilling all the way thru weakens it. Ifthe edge of slots cut into the pads (never heard of this) why wouldn'tthe edge of holes? Just a marketingstatement at best. Ceramics are fine and create a lot less dust.Check out Moesperformance.com , good prices.
