Superchips digital footprint
I was going to purchase the superchip for my 05 1500 Hemi. I was talking with my buddy who has had two ford diesel trucks. The first one we was able to get away with the hypertech chip. Meaning he was able to have the three settings and change it back to stock before taking it in. His newest ford f350 was different. He went with a hypertech chip and he recieved a notice that his warranty was void due to a chip being detected.
So i guess my questions is does the superchips or any other chip leave a digital footprint in the computer that the dealer can see?

diesels run into a problem with tuners. the engine idle time and engine hours are reset when it is reprogrammed. Those two numbers are the first things DC asks for when a cummins needs a new turbo/injectors/etc. Not sure if the superchips leaves a footprint, but I haven't heard of anyone getting busted for it.
