Looking for Gunmetal or Black Rims....please give me your sueggestions
I have an '03 Gray (or is it Grey? LOL) Quad Cab with the factory 20" Rims. I want to replace them with either Gunmetal color or Black rims. I went to a local dealer yesterday, and after looking through almost all of his catalogs, I couldn't find anything I liked that would fit. I asked them for suggestions, but they didn't have a clue. So after a couple of hours, and no help from them, I left while pizzed off. LOL
So I turn to ya'll for suggestions.
I want something that "fills in" more, than some skinny spoke rims. Also, most of the rims I seen in the catalogs had some chrome on them. If possible, I'd like a solid color rim, but if there's nothing I like available that's a solid color, a small amount of chrome would be ok.
As for "filled in", this is what I mean......
I wouldn't want something with spokes as small as this:

I would like something more like this that more filled in:

Thanks for an help or advice ya'll can give.

They're ok, but still a little too "bright" for me. I either want the darker Gunmetal or the Black Rims. Besides, I want to set my truck apart from others.
I was thinking of having my current rims either painted or powder coated, but I'm not to familiar with how that stuff works. The factory rims are the plastic clad rims, so I don't know what options I have with them (either paint, powder coat, or ???), and how durable those options would be. I do think I would like the look of the factory 20" rims in black.
Anodeising is a chemical process that change the color of the aluminum itself.
the plastic coating would need to be removed first.

I like the moto metal 951's myself.
They are available in lots of rims sizes as well.

If you like the look of the stock rims what about ripping off the plastic pieces and then have them painted or powdercoated?

Does the metal rim underneath look the same as the plastic cover (obviously not chrome though...lol)?

The anodizing shop can take care of removing the plastic. (they would probily prefer to do it themselves anyway so the polished surface would not be contaminated.
