Default How to Install An Aftermarket CD Deck w/ Infinity Audio System

I have a question for yall... I just recently bought a 2004 Dodge Ram 1500 Long Bed Hemi Laramie.
The freakin truck is awsome!!!!...... Anyways I am trying to figure out how to install an aftermarket CD Deck and make use of the infinty audio system. Best Buy gave me a standard crysler harness...... which i really did not think this was going to work wiht the speakers because it only has 4 sets of speaker wires and well ii ahve 11 speakers so put 2 and 2 together and well this aint gonna work.... i have called like 20 places and well the majority wants to complete re wire the car in wires and well a few spoke about a specail harness that would work with the system and make use of the steering whell buttons.....but of course no one has it.....the worst think of all dodge dealershios were clueless to my inquaries....Anyways....I would really appreciate any insight on how to fix this problem or how to find the wiring harness it would freakin be awsome... thanks alot!!!!

The only thing I can think of would be that your aftermarket needs to have at least two (preferably three) sets of preouts...then you would have to run those wires to the factory amp, assuming that there is even one (I am not too familure with the Infinity system). Otherwise, you are better off buying an aftermarket 4 channel amp, and running new wires to the speakers (are there built in crossovers for the tweeters?). And I don't think that just any aftermarket head will work with the center speaker on the dash, something to do with the 5.1 surround sound. And if you wanted the true 5.1, then you would need to run a second mono or 2 channel amp to run a sub(s). I don't know if this helps, but that is about all I got.

I havn't done the medic thing in a while... kind of lost interest in that, and I got hired by another fire dept that doesn't run medics. I used to work for Mohegan Tribal FD in Montville, CT (Mohegan Sun Casino) for about 2.5 - 3 years, but the whole picking up grandma smith at 3 am when she drops dead infront of the slot machine got pretty old pretty fast. Now I been at Poquonnock Bridge FD in Groton, CT for 4.5 years and am a TL Chauf/ floater (I move between stations when a guy is off, usually reserved for the low man on shift, but I like doing it, changes things up... besides I am usually in anrider seat down in our other house). We are the central district of 7 districts that make up Groton. 2200 runs a year, 2 engines (understaffed with 2 men a piece) and a truck (understaffed with 1 to 2 men), 26 firefighters, two stations (we have a single engine station)

Hey I totally want to replace the deck in my truck. But I want to keep the volume controls on the steering wheel. Is there a way to do this?

Check out www.Crutchfield.com, they have a universal adapter that would accomplish your goal.
