check engine light?
Hey I got a 04' 1500 with the 4.7, just changed the sparkplugs on it and when i started it the check engine light is now on, i checked all the wires and sensors and was careful not to pull or touch any of them while installing the plugs, any ideas or plan of action? also, i have 37,000 miles on it any other tune up tips i should be aware of? Thanks guys.
You may also bring the truck down to the local Auto Zone. Have them read the code then search the web (or go inside and read one of their books (or join eautorepair.net)).
Im not sure about the new Mopar products, but I know that you can get them yourself.
a.
1. hold down the odometer reset
2. turn the key/ignition all the way to the "on" position without cranking the car.
3. watch the odometer panel.
b.
turn the key/ignition to on
then off
then on
then off
then on
The check engine light will start blinking. It will give you 2 digit codes.
24 would be
blink blink - 4 second pause - blink blink blink blink
If there is more then one code stored, you will get a 4 second pause between the multiple two digit codes.
got it ? Again, I have never tried it on my Rams or Mini vans ... never had the need ... but this method helped me solve a check engine problem that the Sebring had.
