Default Getting bigger tires on your new ram?

I have 33x12.50 MT tires mounted on 17 inch rims on my 04 Ram. It came to our attention that after you get bigger tires like this you need to get your speedometer calibrated, mine was off by 5 MPH. So anyway if you want to get it all up and up make sure they change your cruise control setting also. There is a governor that only lets you set your cruise to 84 or below. Mine was messed up and I couldn't set mine to 74 or above. (Speed limit here is 75. Nice huh?) So just a heads up. It took them 4 hours to figure out this problem, then about 20 min. to fix it. Im assuming you took it to the dealer for the re-programming. I was just wondering how much they charged? I have 285's on (a hair under 33") and they wanted $90 here to do it.

I'm pretty sure I get a discount on everything I get there because I bought my truck. The Dodge dealer here in town (we have a few) was going to charge me $90 but the place I bought it only charged me $60.

My dealer did not charge me at all. If the tech knows what he's doing, it's done in a matter of a few minutes. If not, they may spend quite a long time figuring it out. Hence, the outrageous charges of $60 and $90.

It was done while I was on my way home so I didn't have to deal with it, but my wife dropped it off two days in advance so they could get it all done and detail my truck (it was only 5 months old she wanted it to look as new as possible.) They even messed that up. I had swirl marks all over the truck, they scratched the passenger side view mirror. I mean she paid $160 for the detail job alone, you would think they would do a better job than that. Back to my point. You said as long as the tech knew what he was doing.... I guess the techs at my shop don't. 3 1/2 hours of guess work to figure out my cruise control was do to the setting of my speedometer. I mean I'm no car God, I know very little about the inner working of my truck but I guessed that was the problem right off the bat, they told me no way.

Like my grandfather said when I was telling him about this, your vehicle is only as good as the service department. Looks like I just need to go to a new Dodge dealer.
