Ok got a P138 (High O2 Volts bank 1 snesor 2)
I got the same thing, I reset it numerous times then sucked it up andchanged the aft O2 sensor, and it hasn't come back. Below is the book answer on how it works. The DTC basically is telling you that the voltage being readis way too high for normal parameters. Could be an O2 sensor, could be wiring to it, could be the computer. If this is the first time getting it, go to autozone or advavced and get it reset. I always do that first in the hopes it is just a computer glitch. If it keeps coming back, I would change the aft sensor, and depending on your mileage, I'd change them both as the have a life span of 60K-100K.
OXYGEN SENSOR (O2S) MONITOR
OXYGEN SENSOR (O2S) MONITOR
Effective control of exhaust emissions is achieved
by an oxygen feedback system. The most important
element of the feedback system is the O2S. The O2S
is located in the exhaust path. Once it reaches operating
temperature 300° to 350°C (572° to 662°F), the
sensor generates a voltage that is inversely proportional
to the amount of oxygen in the exhaust. The
information obtained by the sensor is used to calculate
the fuel injector pulse width. This maintains a
14.7 to 1 Air Fuel (A/F) ratio. At this mixture ratio,
the catalyst works best to remove hydrocarbons (HC),
carbon monoxide (CO) and nitrogen oxide (NOx) from
the exhaust.
The O2S is also the main sensing element for the
Catalyst and Fuel Monitors.
The O2S can fail in any or all of the following
manners:
²
slow response rate
²
reduced output voltage
²
dynamic shift
²
shorted or open circuits
Response rate is the time required for the sensor to
switch from lean to rich once it is exposed to a richer
than optimum A/F mixture or vice versa. As the sensor
starts malfunctioning, it could take longer to
detect the changes in the oxygen content of the
exhaust gas.
The output voltage of the O2S ranges from 0 to 1
volt. A good sensor can easily generate any output
voltage in this range as it is exposed to different concentrations
of oxygen. To detect a shift in the A/F
mixture (lean or rich), the output voltage has to
change beyond a threshold value. A malfunctioning
sensor could have difficulty changing beyond the
threshold value.
I was just under the truck and I dont see how it says bank one or bank 2 being I only see 2 flipping 02 sensors lol. Pretty lame.
Truck has just a tick over 77,000 miles so and I rest the thing last night my self came back this pm. So Im off to get me 2 new 02's I think this is my horable gas milage issue to
Driving with an egg under my foot I have a best city milage of only 10mpg!
Thanks for all the info you guys on here are great!

Strange they only do that in cali if theres one on each side with a dif. cross over they may get better flow and performance??
Anyway I just called around on price best I got was at Murrys and there $74 and $128 UH! [sm=imsmilin.gif][sm=insomnia.gif]

www.rockauto.com my favorite shop for parts Bosch o2 sensors $85 each, Denso $62 each, Standard Motor $65/75. With shipping it'll save ya money, just put up with the light until they get here.
Thanks! Major Help!
One other question dose any one make the 02 sim's for the rams??? I used them on my Camaro when we took the cats off of it and they worked really well no check eng. light
Im not big on emission crap and tend to rip things like convertors off (also improves milage and performce) lol

Not now-a-days. These engines are designed from the ground up around the emissions, removing it will not help in the long run. For the trouble and costjust get a free-flowing Cat and you'll be just as good as a straight-pipe and legal. I used to do the same then when I did it to a late model that thing never ran well again and my buddys who were 50 sate legal would runcircles around me while getting better mpg.
No problem, they beat the locals 9 outta 10 on all parts, always have it in stock, carry the best brandsand they send you a really cool fridge magnet![8D]
