Default Cutout vs Warrenty

Does anyone know if putting in a cutout on my exhaust will void the warrenty? I would love to put one on but its not worth it if the warrenty will be voided.

If it is after your cats, I don't see any way that it could void your warranty. It simply bypasses the more restrictive muffler and resonator. If you place it before your cats, you could bypass 02 sensors (if I remember right they are hooked into the cats) and the dealer could use that against you if they wanted to be a jerk about it.

I was talking w/ the guy at my local auto parts store he said it would for certain. Guess I'll just call the dealership to find out.

you could hack your cats off just they have to prove that you removing the cats caused the problem.

I actually Asked that question at my Dodge dealer and they told me that as long as the cutouts are after the Cat's it won't void the warrenty.

You could put them in before the cats, but if they set codes while closed, then you'll have to live with that or fix the leaks.

If they set codes while open, don't worry about it.
